The Purpose of the Ages

Eph 3:8  To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ, 9  and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things; 10  in order that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places. 11  This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,

Have you ever considered, what is God doing?  What is He really after in all of this?  In creating man and redeeming man unto Himself.  What is His end in all of these things? 

In the letter to the saints in Ephesus, Paul having heard of their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love for the saints begins to pray.  And this is his prayer… "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him" (Eph 1:7). 

He felt is was imperative that those believers who were walking by faith, and experiencing the love of the brethren, would receive a revelation of God's purpose and have their minds enlightened to understand that purpose.

Perhaps this is a new concept for some, and for others, something that was opened up to them many years ago.  But regardless of where each of us is at, one thing is certain, God's desire is that every child of God would know His purpose.   And not just as something resides in our minds but rather is illumined in our spirit and upon us in such a way that it propels us into His purpose through the ages.
